The Cherry Creek Youth Sports Cheer Program is excited to announce the 2011 Fall Cheer Season! Cheer is open to children ages 5-11 (kindergarten to 5th grade). Teams will be organized by age. This awesome program provides an introduction to the sport of cheerleading through clinics and weekly team practices, and allows the participants to show off their skills by cheering at CCYS football games.
Season:
The season starts the second week of August and will go through the end of football season (usually the third week of November). Games typically are played on Saturdays at Willow Creek Park or Village Green Park, but makeup games may be scheduled on Sundays. Practice times and locations vary and are at the discretion of the coaches and cheerleading commissioner.
Registration:
Online registration opens May 15 and closes Aug. 1. The registration fee is $100.
Uniforms:
Uniforms cost about $55 and include a skirt, shell and briefs. Additional costs include bows, turtlenecks, etc.
Mandatory Parent/Child/Coach Meeting:
Whether you are returning to cheer or are trying it out for the first time, all participants are required to attend the kickoff meeting on August 5 from 5-6 p.m. at the Greenwood Village City Hall (in the community room). We will go over practice times, squad assignments and more. This also is the only opportunity for your child to try on and order uniforms, bows, poms and turtlenecks.
